Video: Popeyes Manager, Rodney Wood, Arrested And Charged For Shooting Co-worker Over Burnt Biscuits

Rodney Wood, a manager at a Popeyes in Charlotte has been arrested and charged with attempted first-degree murder after allegedly shooting a co-worker over burnt biscuits. The incident happened last Sunday after heated altercation between the two in Charlotte, NC.

These senseless violence can be prevented but people are so quick to take the laws into their own hands and do whatever they want. It’s heartbreaking seeing the worker lying on the ground in pain.

A witness, who was a customer at the time of the shooting, told police the altercation stemmed from an argument between Wood and another employee due to overcooked biscuits.

The witness reported that both went outside after one “challenged” the other, leading to a physical fight. During the brawl, Wood allegedly pulled a gun and fired two rounds.

Court documents stated that a video taken showed “[Wood] discharging his firearm twice at point-blank range.”

Both shots hit Wood’s co-worker, one in the groin and the other in the chest. That employee was rushed to Atrium Health Main in critical, life-threatening condition, and underwent emergency surgery.

When officers arrived at the restaurant, Wood was gone. According to more witnesses, he ran away, and police quickly found and apprehended him within the same shopping center.

Police said Wood claimed the co-worker he was accused of shooting was also a manager.

Wood pleaded to the police that once he and the other manager went outside, he was punched in the face three times, causing him to fire two “warning shots” not intended to kill.

This unfortunate incident serves as a reminder of the importance of conflict resolution and workplace safety. Employers should take steps to prevent and address conflicts in the workplace to ensure the well-being of their employees.
