Giannis Antetokounmpo is not happy these days. On Tuesday, the Milwaukee Bucks made two significant decisions that shocked the basketball community. The Bucks had to waive Damian Lillard in order to sign Myles Turner to a huge four-year contract, as was initially revealed. According to NBA source Chris Haynes, Giannis Antetokounmpo doesn’t seem to approve of the choice to sever connections with Lillard in that way.
“Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo is not pleased with the team’s decision to waive Damian Lillard, league sources tell me.”
The Bucks’ decision to cut Lillard, who tore his Achilles in the playoffs, was undoubtedly not pretty, but it was most likely their only chance to acquire Turner.

Antetokounmpo requested that the front office assemble a stronger squad around him so that he could contend for a championship, and they have successfully done so.
If Antetokounmpo had been furious about this, it would have been a little harsh. On Free Agent Fever, Haynes went into further detail on the topic. What these “suspect things” were that had disturbed Antetokounmpo was not mentioned by Haynes. Even speculating about what those might be is difficult.
Regarding Antetokounmpo’s response to this information, he had published a post on X just before the rumors circulated.
