In a development that has captured national attention, Travis Hunter Sr., the father of the promising NFL player and 2024 Heisman Trophy candidate Travis Hunter, has been jailed once again.
Earlier this week, he was arrested for a probation violation, prompting authorities to release his new mugshot. The mugshot was captured during Hunter Sr.’s arrest on Tuesday in Palm Beach County, Florida.
He is facing accusations of not adhering to the conditions of his home confinement and electronic monitoring. Court documents reveal that on June 28 at 8:07 p.m., the tracking device he was using triggered an alert after losing signal for about 11 minutes.
Initially, Hunter Sr. claimed he had merely relocated to a different room while the device remained in the living room. However, a few days later, he altered his story, stating that he had lost the device entirely. Testing of the monitoring equipment showed it was functioning correctly, contradicting his claim.
Consequently, on July 10, a judge issued an arrest warrant for him, citing a violation of the electronic monitoring rules. He has now been taken into custody and is currently being held without bond at the Palm Beach jail.
