Josh Allen made the Bills the first team in NFL history to overcome a 15-point hole in the last four minutes of a Week 1 game, and the game ended with 81 points scored.
By the end of the game, Mike Tirico even told the audience that a new scorigami had been created. He said: “If you’ve never seen a game like that before, you’re right. That’s the first 41-40 final score in the 106-year history of the National Football League.”
Let’s just say that while history was made, the days before it were fairly bleak. With just under 12 minutes left, the Ravens led 40–25 thanks to a 46-yard touchdown rush from Derrick Henry, and Bills fans began to leave.
Josh Allen, however, believes that this season opening should serve as a reminder of why, in difficult times, you should be focusing on beating traffic rather than your opponent. In his post-game interview, Allen yelled:
“Our team doesn’t quit,”. “There’s people that left the stadium. And that’s OK, we’ll be fine. But have some faith next time.”
Fans from all over the country, including Rich Eisen, a seven-time Sports Emmy candidate, were in awe of what they were witnessing as Matt Prater’s 32-yard field goal attempt flew between the uprights. “How on earth was that?” During a direct upload to his YouTube channel, Eisen yelled.
