Following the Packers-Cowboys 40-40 draw and Micah Parsons‘s significant return to Dallas on Sunday night, the Green Bay linebacker made a really intriguing statement about his thoughts on his post-trade homecoming and his evolving opinion of former general manager Jerry Jones.
After the game, Parsons spoke to reporters who inquired about how difficult it was to handle the emotional piece:
“I think, all the emotions for me, being in Dallas, went away the moment they traded me,”
“I didn’t even get to talk to my owner [Jones], the person that drafted me. Then I found out through my agent. So, to me, that emotion side was pointless because the same way he called me into his office, as a man, he couldn’t tell me as a man. So, to me that emotion side was gone, it was more about a respect factor at this point.”
The general manager of the Cowboys then addressed Parsons’s grievance on Tuesday, saying that he didn’t call the linebacker regarding the agreement because Parsons reportedly instructed him not to. Jones addressed the 105.3 He was questioned about it by the fan host:
“I really don’t want to respond to that at all, in deference to you very much,” “but that phone call thing got stopped when he told me to take his number off my dial. It was ‘Don’t call him any more.’ So I quit those calls.”
Fascinating. Jones claims that Parsons basically told him, “Lose my number,” and Jones took that personally. However, Parsons claims that he would have valued receiving the news directly from the source, even if Jerry’s claim is accurate.
The plot keeps getting more complex.
