Austin Reaves exploded for a career-high 51 points, leading the Los Angeles Lakers to a 127‑120 victory over the Sacramento Kings. Reaves credited his breakout night to a text from Luka Dončić before the game.
“Luka said, ‘I need 60 today’” Reaves laughed.
He mentioned a pre-game conversation with Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott, and about his relationship with Luka.
“He was like I need 60…”

With Luka Dončić and LeBron James resting, Reaves stepped into the spotlight and dominated every quarter.
He added 11 rebounds and 9 assists, shooting 12 of 22 from the field and 21 of 22 from the free-throw line. His fourth-quarter surge included three clutch three-pointers and four late free throws to secure the win.
The undrafted guard proved he can lead when stars are out. His performance not only helped the Lakers win but also announced him as a rising force in the league.
