Mark Sanchez wandered for around 20 minutes, at times struggling to maintain his balance, in downtown Indianapolis prior to the violent confrontation with the individual he allegedly attacked. TMZ Sports has acquired footage from surveillance cameras documenting the former NFL player’s movements—from 12:05 AM, when the alleged victim, Perry Tole, arrived in his service truck, to 12:30 AM, when Sanchez fled the area, injured and covered in blood from stab wounds.
When Tole arrives on the scene, he is seen driving south through the alley, seemingly while Sanchez was already moving. After Tole parks, he exits the video frame, leaving it unclear if they spotted each other, but 7 minutes later, Sanchez emerges from the alley, appearing to stumble slightly.
At that moment, he was not harmed and appeared to be calm.
Sanchez merely appears to be aimlessly wandering as he steps out of the alley, casually walking along the sidewalk at 12:14 AM. A minute and a half later, he is seen returning, moving in the opposite direction, and this moment takes a strange turn.
Sanchez approaches the alley but does not enter it; instead, he hesitates and continues to walk very slowly down the street, eventually disappearing from the camera’s view. Almost 6 minutes later, he reappears and stations himself at the alley’s entrance, leaning against a wall for about 2 minutes.
Sanchez is still receiving medical care for his wounds but has already been charged with felony battery resulting in significant bodily harm, along with 3 misdemeanors, risking up to 6 years behind bars if found guilty.
Authorities mention they have reviewed several videos capturing the actual assault.
