Antonio Brown Says He Acted In Self-Defense In Attempted Murder Case

Antonio Brown has pleaded not guilty in accusations of trying to kill someone at a celebrity boxing match.

Antonio Brown is back in the headlines, and no, it’s not for a touchdown dance or a new rap single. The former NFL star through his attorney is now saying he acted in self-defense in his ongoing attempted murder case. Yes, you read that right. AB claims he wasn’t trying to be a criminal, he was just trying to protect his life.

AB hired Mark Eiglarsh ahead of his trial … and the lawyer sent TMZ Sports a statement addressing the altercation at Adin Ross’ event, explaining he took the case because he “passionately believes in Brown’s defense.”

“The actions he was forced to take were solely in self-defense against the alleged victim’s violent behavior,” Eiglarsh said. “Brown was attacked that night and acted within his legal right to protect himself from an individual who had previously committed criminal acts against him. It’s a privilege to represent him, and I am determined to ensure that justice is served.”

His lawyers are now pushing the self-defense angle hard, claiming that Brown was all about protecting himself.

Of course, social media is having a field day. Some fans are defending AB, saying he’s just misunderstood and has been targeted ever since leaving the league. Others are shaking their heads.

Now, whether the self-defense claim holds up in court is anyone’s guess. It’s early days yet so we wait for what’s ahead.
