Former NBA guard Patrick Beverley was arrested Friday in Texas on a felony assault charge, according to jail records.
Beverley, a 12-year NBA veteran, was taken into custody at the Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office in Richmond, Texas.
Jail records indicate the charge against the 36-year-old is Assault on a Family Member/Household Member Impeding Breath or Circulation, which is classified as a third-degree felony.
Bail Posted and Expected Release
Beverley’s bail was set at $40,000, which he posted. He is expected to be released later Friday. The circumstances surrounding the alleged incident were not immediately made public.
A defensive specialist throughout his career, Beverley last played for the Milwaukee Bucks. The well-known point guard previously suited up for seven other NBA teams, including the Houston Rockets, Los Angeles Clippers, Los Angeles Lakers, and Philadelphia 76ers. He also has a notable professional career overseas, where he was named the 2012 EuroCup MVP.
