Michael Porter Jr is bragging about beating WNBA players while in 8th Grade.
So, Brooklyn Nets player Michael Porter Jr just dropped a casual bombshell: he claims he was beating WNBA players back when he was in seventh/eighth grade. Yes, while most kids were worried about algebra quizzes and braces, MPJ was out there crossing up grown women’s professional athletes like it was recess.
Let that sink in. According to Michael Porter Jr;
“I’m probably going with 8th grade because I have real experience doing this. I played my sisters. They played at The University of Missouri and I was still a young kid. They had me playing on the scout team and they had a few WNBA players on their team like, Sophie Cunningham and a couple others. I was in the 7th or 8th grade going crazy. So, I have real life experience. It’s just a difference and I wish this would stop being a conversation because it should be common sense. I appreciate common sense. I feel sometimes that’s lost a little bit.”
So is this story true? Maybe. Is it hilarious? Absolutely.
The best part is how casually he mentioned it, like someone saying they once got an A in biology. Man, most kids that age struggle to beat their little cousins in driveway knockout.
Lonzo Ball says 9th grade Zo would go crazy in the WNBA. Michael Porter Jr says it's common sense.
Michael Porter Jr.: "You know what's crazy? Pat Bev said that a WNBA team could beat the bench players of an NBA team."

But let’s give him credit. Porter Jr has always been confident, and clearly that didn’t start in the NBA,it started in eighth grade.
