Surviallance Footage of Goons Robbing Shedeur Sanders of $200k in Home Invasion

Cleveland Browns rookie quarterback Shedeur Sanders’ home was burglarized of an estimated $200,000 worth of property on Sunday, according to the Medina County Sheriff’s Office, with the break-in occurring as the fifth-round pick was making his NFL regular-season debut.

The burglary, which involved three masked suspects captured on surveillance footage, adds Sanders to a growing list of professional athletes targeted by organized theft rings while they are away from their residences for games.

Debut Marred by Break-in

The incident took place Sunday evening while the Browns were hosting the Baltimore Ravens at Huntington Bank Field. Sanders, the son of Pro Football Hall of Famer Deion Sanders, entered the game in the second half for injured starter Dillon Gabriel.

According to a release from the Medina County Sheriff’s Office, three suspects entered Sanders’ residence in Granger Township at approximately 6:46 p.m. ET and left the property 12 minutes later, around 6:58 p.m. ET.

Sanders’ debut was a difficult one on the field as well, as the rookie completed four of 16 passes for 47 yards and an interception in the 23-16 loss to the Ravens. The team announced Monday that Sanders is in line to make his first career start this coming weekend against the Las Vegas Raiders, pending Gabriel’s status in concussion protocol.

Details of the Theft and Investigation

Authorities estimate that approximately $200,000 in personal items were stolen, with police reports indicating the thieves ransacked areas like bedside nightstands and closets. Captain Eric Bors of the Medina County Sheriff’s Office confirmed the stolen property included various high-value clothing items, bags, hats, and sunglasses.

The sheriff’s office stated that surveillance cameras inside the home recorded the suspects, who were wearing masks and gloves, entering and exiting different portions of the residence.

The investigation is active and ongoing. Authorities have not yet made any arrests nor publicly released the surveillance footage as of this report.

Part of a Growing Trend

The robbery is the latest in a troubling trend targeting high-profile athletes across the NFL and other professional leagues. In the past year, players including Kansas City Chiefs stars Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce, as well as Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow, have had their homes broken into, often timed to coincide with when the athletes are publicly known to be away competing in a game.

Authorities in Medina County confirmed they are in contact with agencies in other jurisdictions that have handled similar cases to determine if there is a wider organized link between the break-ins.
