The 2025 NFL season will have Tom Brady complete his first season as a Raiders Owner.
The first attempt has been somewhat difficult. After making significant organizational changes over the summer, including hiring Pete Carroll and acquiring quarterback Geno Smith, Las Vegas has collapsed. At 2-9 after 12 weeks, the Raiders have one of the poorest records in the league. Smith’s 13 interceptions are tied for the most in the NFL, and he has been a complete failure at center. Carroll has already had to remove two coaches, including the pricey offensive coordinator Chip Kelly.
According to a recent source, Brady is quite angry about it all. Brady was a strong supporter of Kelly’s hire during the previous offseason and has “shared his disappointment” with the team’s performance this year, according to a story published on Wednesday by Dianna Russini of The Athletic.
On Wednesday, Russini wrote:
“I’m told minority owner Tom Brady was a big advocate of bringing in Kelly to run the offense, and he has shared with some people close to him his disappointment in the team’s overall performance,”. “His frustrations go beyond the offense, too.”
The fact that Brady, a seven-time Super Bowl winner, dislikes losing is certainly not surprising. Reports of his dissatisfaction, however, are noteworthy. Brady is clearly influential within the Las Vegas buildings. He helped hire Kelly, per the report above, and Carroll acknowledged earlier in the year that the coaching staff chats with Brady about football strategy regularly, calling the former quarterback a “tremendous asset” for the organization.
