New surveillance footage has been released showing the moments after a shooting that left New York Jets cornerback Kris Boyd critically injured early Sunday, as police continue their search for the gunman.
The Incident
The shooting occurred around 2:05 a.m. Sunday outside Sei Less, an Asian fusion restaurant on West 38th Street near Seventh Avenue in Midtown Manhattan.
According to police, a dispute escalated among a group of people on the crowded street, leading to gunfire. Boyd, 29, was struck once in the abdomen. The bullet passed through his stomach and lodged in his lung.

In the footage, several individuals are seen engaged in physical altercations near parked cars and yellow taxis. People scatter in panic, with some running across the wet pavement under nighttime lighting. No muzzle flashes or the exact moment of the shooting are visible in the clip, but the video shows groups fighting and fleeing, consistent with witness accounts of a dispute turning violent.
Separate NYPD-released images depict the suspect — a man wearing a black hoodie, black pants, a black cap, multicolored sneakers and carrying a black backpack — running from the scene.
The Suspect
No arrests have been made. Authorities are seeking the unidentified gunman, who fled in a vehicle, possibly a BMW X8 SUV. A Mercedes-Maybach was also reported to have left the area. Police have urged anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers at 800-577-TIPS.
It remains unclear whether Boyd was the intended target or if the shooting stemmed from a personal dispute.

Boyd’s Condition
As of Monday, Boyd remained hospitalized in critical but stable condition at Bellevue Hospital. He has undergone multiple procedures, and sources say the bullet remains lodged in his lung.
The Jets issued a brief statement saying the team is aware of the situation but offered no further comment. Teammates, including linebacker Jermaine Johnson, posted public pleas for prayers on social media.
Boyd, in his first season with the Jets after signing as a free agent, has been on injured reserve since suffering a shoulder injury in preseason and has not played this year.
