Steelers coach Mike Tomlin has clapped back at “Fire Tomlin” chants.
Pittsburgh, home of steel, touchdowns, and fans who believe they’re the real GM. Sunday’s game gave Steelers Nation a new tradition: chanting “Fire Tomlin!” loud enough to actually get him fired. But don’t worry, Coach Mike Tomlin didn’t flinch. He handled it the way only he can: calm and collected.
After the game, reporters asked him about the chants. And Tomlin? He didn’t roll his eyes, storm off, or challenge a fan to a bench-press showdown. He let fans know he understands their frustration.

‘I share their frustration tonight,’ Tomlin told reporters when asked about the chants after the loss. ‘We didn’t do enough. That’s just the reality of it.’
According to a long-time Steelers fan known on X as ‘@PghJarron,’ this is new territory for Tomlin.
‘I may be mistaken, but this appears to be the first time I’ve ever heard ‘Fire Tomlin’ chants,’ he wrote on X.
Just the team’s third head coach since 1969, Tomlin is now seen by many as a symbol of owner Art Rooney’s refusal to change. Pittsburgh has not gone beyond the opening round of the NFL playoffs since 2017 and Tomlin’s Super Bowl victory is now a distant memory some 17 seasons later.
Sure, the chants weren’t totally unprovoked. The Steelers’ performance lately has been questionable. Some fans are frustrated, some are dramatic, and some just really enjoy yelling “fire Tomlin.”

And Mike Tomlin? Still undefeated in handling fans fury with style, and absolutely no sweat.
