Kevin Durant scored 32 points, including 18 in the first half, to lead the Houston Rockets to a 111-104 victory over the Detroit Pistons on Friday night, snapping Detroit’s four-game winning streak. The game at Little Caesars Arena featured a heated verbal altercation between Durant and a courtside fan, which quickly spread on social media.
The Rockets improved to 27-16 with the win, while the Pistons dropped to 32-11. Durant was efficient, shooting 12-of-20 from the field and adding five 3-pointers, along with highlights that included a 10-foot fadeaway early in the game. The Pistons, led by Cade Cunningham’s 12 points and eight assists, shot just 40.5% in the second half and struggled to contain Durant. The halftime score was tied at 52-52, with Detroit holding a 36-24 edge in paint points, but Houston pulled away in the third and fourth quarters.
The altercation occurred in the second quarter during a timeout, with the score at 47-50. Video footage showed Durant, wearing his No. 7 Rockets jersey, standing near the baseline and engaging with fans who were heckling him. One fan, initially wearing a Durant jersey, removed it during the exchange. Durant was heard saying:
“You can sck my dck. You a grown man. Grown man on my dck all night,” according to clips shared online.
Additional footage captured him adding:
“Who the fck you talking to motherfcker? You ain’t gonna do sht! Watch your f*ckin’ mouth,” and “What would you do out here… Fat muthafcker you can’t do sh… you pay to see us.”
The argument lasted over a minute, but no ejections or further incidents were reported.

The incident echoed a similar one earlier in the season when Pistons fans targeted Milwaukee’s Bobby Portis, highlighting Detroit’s engaged fanbase. Durant, known for occasionally responding to critics, continued playing without apparent disruption, finishing as the game’s leading scorer.
