Lil Wayne Upset Packers Lost to Purple Nails Wearing Caleb Williams

Rapper Lil Wayne, a vocal Green Bay Packers fan, unleashed a profane tirade on social media following the team’s wild-card playoff loss to the Chicago Bears on Sunday, targeting Bears quarterback Caleb Williams’ painted purple nails and declaring the Packers unworthy of postseason play.

Wayne, whose real name is Dwayne Michael Carter Jr., posted on X shortly after the game: “We just loss a playoff game to a nigga w purple nails we fkn suk bear azz! Bare ass!!! We don’t deserve to be in the playoffs. Straight like that.”

The post quickly amassed thousands of replies, drawing a mix of support from frustrated Packers fans and sharp criticism from Bears supporters and others who accused Wayne of hypocrisy.

Williams, the Bears’ rookie sensation known for his expressive style including manicures, responded succinctly on X with “❄️🦸🏽‍♂️. #DABEARS,” accompanied by emojis symbolizing coldness and a superhero. The reply garnered more than 123,000 likes and fueled further online discourse.

Social media users were quick to highlight Wayne’s past fashion choices and public moments, such as wearing skinny jeans and a publicized kiss with mentor Birdman, to counter his jab at Williams.

One top reply from user @momopilled read: “how you gonna call someone zesty when you be locking lips with Birdman?” Another, from @MrBadog, stated: “You leggin wearing, n&gga kissin ass nigga…. You got some nerve…. FTP.”

Bears fans celebrated the victory and Wayne’s frustration. User @suzukiplshomer posted a video clip with the caption:

“CARTER 6 WAS ASS AND THEY DIDNT PICK YOU TO PERFORM DURING THE SUPER BOWL IN YOUR OWN BACKYARD LMFAOAOAOAOAAOOOOOOOO PACKKKKKKK.”

Cole Bennett, a music video director, urged Wayne to “get off the internet” while affirming his love for the rapper.

The exchange echoed preseason debates about Williams’ nail-painting habit, which some critics had mocked as a distraction. In March 2024, Williams addressed detractors on X, saying:

“NAILS ARE CLEAN, THE LIPS ARE PINK, YOUR GIRL WILL LUV THEM.”

Sunday’s game marked Chicago’s upset win over Green Bay, advancing the Bears while ending the Packers’ season.

Media outlets amplified the story, with Yahoo Sports noting Wayne’s livid reaction and Bleacher Report highlighting Williams’ clapback. The incident underscores the intersection of sports, celebrity and social media, where personal style often becomes fodder for viral debates.

Wayne, 43, has long professed his Packers fandom, attending games and incorporating team references into his music. Neither Wayne nor Williams immediately responded to requests for further comment.
