Micah Parsons didn’t let things slide on New Year’s Day as he jumped on Jerry Jones on X.
New Year’s Day is supposed to be about fresh starts, positive vibes, and maybe a quiet promise to eat fewer wings. Micah Parsons clearly chose chaos instead. The former Cowboys player kicked off the year by unloading a series of rants aimed at Cowboys owner Jerry Jones. Fireworks were still popping, and Micah was already popping off.
While most people were nursing hangovers, Micah was wide awake and choosing violence on the timeline.
On New Year’s Day, Parsons took to X to respond to some comments from Cowboys defensive coordinator Matt Eberflus, in which he bemoaned the loss of Parsons and appeared to admit the defense had worsened since his exit.
Given the comments were significantly different to Jones’ outlook on the trade, Parsons reacted with a series of laughing faces, sparking a furious response from Dallas fans.
Parsons then weighed in again with a second post, writing: ‘Y’all want me to feel bad? Jerry Jones slandered my name to Cowboys media and national media for months.
‘So I do think I can react to comment if I want to! #respecfully’
Parsons had to respond to a fan who tagged him as a hypocrite based on his tweets from 24 hours.
Parsons had then responded: ‘I feel like what point is there in trying to publicly disrespect someone? He’s not representing the star anymore, just give the man a farewell and wish him the best.
‘I don’t know why everything has to be negative every time a break-up happens! He’s in a better situation rn, trust me! Bro’s gonna be great again!’
Whether Jerry Jones cares or not is another story. The man has survived decades of criticism and still runs the show his way. But Micah’s words added fuel to a fire that never really goes out in Dallas.
One thing is certain. The Cowboys did not even need a game to dominate headlines. Micah Parsons made sure 2026 started the same way Dallas football always does. Loud, dramatic, and impossible to ignore.
