Leaked direct messages purportedly show an unidentified woman contacting Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Rashee Rice in late December to warn him that his then-girlfriend, Dacoda Nichole Jones, was allegedly involved in an affair with the woman’s boyfriend, described as Nichole’s “lightskin childhood friend.” Rice responded by indicating he was already aware of the infidelity, stating it had been ongoing for years and that he was no longer involved with her.
The screenshots of the messages, dated Dec. 28 and circulated on social media, depict the woman initiating the conversation in what appears to be a business chat on the platform Instagram, she wrote:
“Hey I know you don’t know me, but if you are still with Dacoda we need to talk. I just found out my boyfriend [redacted] has been messing around with her.” Rice replied, “Who’s that, her Lightskin childhood ‘Friend,'” and after confirmation from the woman, added, “Yeah I’m not dealing with her but they been doing this shit for years TBH.”
The woman expressed distress, saying:
“Man I’m f*cked up about this,”
She then recounted an incident from the previous week where Nichole allegedly dropped off a rental car at her boyfriend’s house, with the man insisting she was just a friend. Rice offered sympathy and advice:
“Yeaaaa sorry you just finding out, nun new to me. Just do better as far as fw him they always gon fw eachother.” The woman replied, “Yeah it will be good, I will never fw him again. Sorry you had to deal with that.”
The messages emerge amid recent public allegations from Nichole, who on Jan. 7 posted a series of graphic photos on Instagram showing bruises, cuts and damaged property. She accused an unnamed partner—widely believed to be Rice—of eight years of physical and emotional abuse, including incidents during her pregnancies and being locked out in freezing temperatures after discovering infidelity. Nichole, a fitness trainer and mother of their two sons, stated she was “tired of protecting his image” and prioritizing healing for herself and their children. She referenced rumors of Rice’s involvement with rapper Rubi Rose as a contributing factor to her decision to speak out.
The Chiefs issued a statement acknowledging awareness of Nichole’s allegations and confirming communication with the NFL, but declined further comment. The league is reviewing the matter under its personal conduct policy. Rice, 25, has not addressed the claims publicly. No charges have been filed.
Rice, a second-round pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, has been a key contributor for the Chiefs since his debut. He previously resolved legal issues from a 2024 high-speed crash in Dallas via a plea deal, avoiding jail time, but was suspended by the NFL for six games.
