OnlyFans María Julissa on If She Snitched Leading to El Mencho Death

Nemesio Oseguera Cervantes, the notorious leader of Mexico’s Jalisco New Generation Cartel known as El Mencho, died following a raid by Mexican special forces on a secluded resort in Jalisco state, officials confirmed Tuesday. The operation, which stemmed from tracking one of Oseguera’s romantic partners, has sparked widespread cartel retaliation but also ignited unfounded social media rumors linking his downfall to an OnlyFans model.

Oseguera, 59, was wounded in a gunfight during the Feb. 22 raid at a compound in Tapalpa and died en route to a hospital in Mexico City, according to Mexican authorities supported by U.S. intelligence. The capture ended a yearslong manhunt for one of the world’s most wanted drug lords, who faced a $15 million U.S. bounty for his role in flooding American streets with fentanyl and methamphetamine.

Authorities said they located Oseguera by monitoring a girlfriend, who left the site before the assault. A man associated with her provided the key lead to the hideout. However, viral claims on platforms like X (formerly Twitter) alleged the partner was María Julissa, a Mexican influencer and OnlyFans creator from Sonora, who supposedly betrayed him or inadvertently revealed his location.

Julissa has vehemently denied any involvement, calling the rumors “totally false” in public statements and expressing fear over the misinformation. Official reports from Mexican officials and outlets like the New York Post make no mention of OnlyFans or Julissa, describing the partner only as a romantic associate.

The speculation appears fueled by AI-generated images, edited videos and unsubstantiated posts, with some tracing the story to a Telemundo report that was later clarified. Adding to the confusion, a separate January incident involved the abduction of Nicole Pardo Molina, an OnlyFans model with alleged ties to the rival Sinaloa Cartel — an unrelated event that may have blurred lines in online narratives.

Experts note that personal relationships have long been vulnerabilities for cartel bosses, as seen in the 2016 arrest of Sinaloa leader Joaquín “El Chapo” Guzmán through a mistress. Oseguera’s death has triggered violence across Mexico, including blockades and attacks on security forces, underscoring the ongoing challenges in combating powerful criminal organizations.
