Reality TV just delivered another playful “wait… what?” moment. Southern Charm star Salley Carson is out here subtly shooting her shot. And the target? None other than Cooper DeJean, who just so happens to be rumored to be linked to WWE royalty, Nikki Bella.
The same Nikki Bella who could probably bench press half of Bravo.
Salley didn’t exactly send Cooper a handwritten love letter, she didn’t need to. A few cheeky DMs, a little flirty energy. Some “oops, did I say that out loud?” vibes. Classic reality TV behavior. Subtle enough to deny, loud enough for the internet to catch it in 0.3 seconds.
Salley basically joked that she’s now “scared Nikki will beat her ass.” Which, honestly, fair. If you’re playfully circling a woman’s rumored NFL man and that woman is a former WWE champion, you should probably sleep with one eye open. I’m just saying.
During an appearance on Tuesday’s installment of the “Not Skinny But Not Fat” podcast, the “Southern Charm” star recalled shooting her shot with DeJean after “liking” each other’s Instagram pics.
“I just slid into Cooper DeJean’s [DMs],” Carson, 29, said, adding that 23-year-old DeJean is “dating, or not dating, casually seeing a 43-year-old right now,” referring to Bella, 42.
“I sent him the article and was like, ‘Are you dating her?’
“… I have his number. I think he’s so cute. He’s going to kill me.
“He DM’d me back pretty quickly… so I was shocked when he replied back [because he has over 1.1 million Instagram followers].
“I told him ‘happy birthday’ like two days ago.”
According to Salley, she would love to meet DeJean Cooper if he’s not dating Nikki Bella.
“There’s all these articles that they are dating but he in all of his interviews is [saying] ‘no,’” Carson said.
“Now I’m scared because that girl is going to beat my ass if they are dating.”
It’s the crossover episode nobody asked for but everyone is watching.
Will anything actually happen? Probably not. Will the internet keep overanalyzing every emoji? Absolutely.
For now, Salley gets points for bravery, chaos, or both.
And honestly? If Nikki does show up, I’d pay good money to see Salley sprint in heels.
