Steph Curry on Jonathan Kuminga’s People Eating All The Food in Family Lounge

Stephen Curry publicly apologized to Jonathan Kuminga after an ESPN report highlighted what the Warriors star called a “ridiculous” grievance in the young forward’s acrimonious split from the team.

Hours after the story published Wednesday, Curry jumped into the comments section of an Instagram post by Bleacher Report that mocked the report with a photo of Kuminga in his Warriors jersey and the caption “Too much food,” accompanied by hamburger and hot dog emojis.

“I’m sorry bro. This is ridiculous. Go be Great!” Curry wrote directly to Kuminga.

The post was later deleted. Kuminga replied in the same thread with multiple crying-laughing emojis and the words “What else?”

The ESPN report, part of a larger story on the “ugly 5-year split” between Kuminga and the Warriors, said team officials had grown frustrated that someone in the 22-year-old’s inner circle was taking excessive food from the team’s family room — a lounge area for players and their guests.

Kuminga was drafted seventh overall by Golden State in 2021 out of the G League Ignite. He broke out in the 2023-24 season but saw his role shrink over the past two years amid reported tensions with coach Steve Kerr. The relationship soured to the point that the Warriors traded him to the Atlanta Hawks last week in a deal that brought back Kristaps Porzingis.

Kuminga has not yet played for Atlanta while recovering from a knee injury.

Curry, the Warriors’ four-time NBA champion and face of the franchise, remains sidelined with his own injury but used his platform to defend his former teammate. No comment was immediately available from the Warriors or Kuminga beyond the Instagram exchange.
