Bam Adebayo‘s 83-point performance has not impressed everyone, including Houston Rockets head coach Ime Udoka, who told reporters he didn’t understand how the Miami Heat player could score so easily until he glanced at the box score.
After his side defeated the Toronto Raptors 113-99 on Tuesday, the 48-year-old former professional was questioned by the media about his thoughts on the big man’s historic night at home against the Washington Wizards.
According to Udoka:
“First thing you think is ‘how?’ — not because of him, but because of the way he plays,”
“And I saw he only made six threes but 40 free throws or something like that? Tells the story right there … and the Washington Wizards.”
Adebayo surpassed Kobe Bryant for the second-most points in a game, according to Los Angeles Lakers coach JJ Redick.

At the conclusion of the game, he claimed he was initially unaware that the Heat were playing a “different type of basketball.”
Nevertheless, he called Adebayo’s accomplishment “incredible.”
Even though the game was already decided, Miami purposefully fouled the Wizards to earn extra possessions and feed Adebayo the rock, effectively stuffing the stat sheet in his favor.
O’Shea Jackson Jr., a devoted fan of the Lakers, had a bit of a meltdown on social media, spreading rumors and claiming that the historic night altered his perspective on the NBA in general.
