Nia Long has officially entered her “I’m tired” era. And honestly? Same.
In a candid interview, Nia basically said what half the world has been thinking but didn’t have the energy to say out loud. Dating is exhausting, relationships are work, and sometimes, you just want peace, snacks, and your phone on Do Not Disturb.
After her very public breakup with Ime Udoka, Nia is not rushing back into the dating pool. In fact, she’s standing at the edge of it like, “Y’all have fun. I’ll watch from over here.”
In the accompanying interview, Long got candid about everything from appearing in the upcoming Michael Jackson biopic Michael to whether she’s looking for a partner anytime soon.
Elsewhere in the interview, Long spoke about whether she’s dating and revealed that she doesn’t “like that word.”
“I feel like that requires me to go out and do something. I do think that if you’re looking for a partner, you have to be actively out there in order to meet,” she explained. “But I am not in that space right now. I’m really focused on my kids, my work, and my girlfriends, and going out and having a good time. …I like to get up and do what I want to do when I want to do it. It’s not that I don’t want to have a partner, but I was in a relationship for a very long time, and I’m enjoying getting to know myself without feeling the need to be of service to a relationship.”
And let’s be honest, this might be the most relatable celebrity moment of the year. Who hasn’t looked at their phone, seen a dating app notification, and thought, “Yes, not today”?
So for now, Nia is off the market, not because she can’t find someone, but she doesn’t feel like it. And that might be the ultimate power move.
Ms. Long did point out that she will want you to sign an NDA if you want a night of loving.
Will she date again someday? Probably. Will she rush into it? Absolutely not.
Until then, she’s choosing peace. And in 2026, that might be rarer than love itself.
