Charlotte Hornets guard LaMelo Ball and his partner, model Ana Montana, have welcomed their first child together, a son named LaOne, a representative for the couple confirmed exclusively to People magazine.
Ball, 24, and Montana, whose real name is Analicia Chaves, announced the birth of their son, who arrived in January. The couple described the new addition as a profound blessing that has reshaped their lives.
“Welcoming LaOne into the world has changed our hearts in the best way,” the couple told People. “Family has always meant everything to us, but becoming parents has given us an entirely new perspective on love, purpose, legacy and what truly matters most.”
They added: “He has brought so much happiness and meaning into our lives, and we’re incredibly grateful to God for trusting us with such a special blessing. We’re embracing this new chapter with so much love and excitement as we raise and guide our son together.”
The announcement comes months after Ball’s father, LaVar Ball, first publicly referenced a grandson named La’One during a March appearance on the “Ball in the Family” podcast, though neither LaMelo Ball nor Montana had commented at the time.
Along with news of the birth, Montana is launching I Am Fertility, a platform and nonprofit dedicated to supporting women navigating fertility and IVF journeys. The initiative offers education, emotional support, resources and reproductive health awareness.
“At one point during my IVF journey, I felt overwhelmed, emotional, isolated and unsure where to turn,” Montana said. “That experience inspired me to create I Am Fertility as a safe space where women don’t have to face this journey alone.”
The organization will also award The HOPE Grant, providing $5,000 each to two women undergoing fertility treatments. Applications open Mother’s Day and close June 1.
Ball, the No. 3 overall pick in the 2020 NBA Draft, has played six seasons with the Hornets. He and Montana, who have been in a relationship for several years, have kept much of their personal life private until now.
No further details about LaOne’s birth date or additional family plans were released.
