Jessie T. Usher (JessieTUsher on Instagram), who portrays A-Train on Prime Video’s “The Boys,” opened up about his character’s complex journey in the series’ fifth and final season during an exclusive interview with BlackSportsOnline founder Robert Littal.

In the conversation, posted Monday to the BSOTV YouTube channel, Usher reflected on A-Train’s evolution from a self-serving supe to a figure grappling with accountability and redemption as the show heads toward its conclusion. The actor described the arc as one that has built across multiple seasons but reaches its peak in the final chapter.

Littal, whose BlackSportsOnline platform has expanded into entertainment coverage through BSOTV, asked Usher about the emotional weight of wrapping up A-Train’s story after five seasons. Usher discussed how the character’s self-reflection and key confrontations represent a full-circle moment, including moments of honesty that fans have anticipated.

The interview also touched on the broader cast dynamics in the final season, with Usher weighing in on whether there could be any path to redemption for other characters such as The Deep.

“The Boys” premiered its fifth season in early April. The satirical superhero series, created by Eric Kripke and based on the Garth Ennis comic, has followed Butcher and his team’s efforts to take down Vought and the corrupt supes who run it. A-Train’s storyline has shifted notably in recent seasons, moving the character from antagonist to a more nuanced player seeking change.

Usher told Littal the final season allowed him to explore layers of A-Train that felt earned after years of portraying the speedster’s internal conflicts.
