This week’s episode of “Wait, what is going on?” stars Dak Prescott and Caitlin Rance, who suddenly became internet detectives’ favorite topic after being spotted together in Texas looking very much like a couple.
And not just “standing near each other” couple vibes.
According to reports, Prescott and Rance attended a Pro Bull Riders event in Fort Worth on Friday.
Witnesses claimed the pair were hanging out with friends, including some Dallas Cowboys players, but the real attention came from their alleged behavior. People said the two were holding hands and acting cozy enough to make everyone nearby immediately start texting group chats.
Nothing spreads faster than celebrity relationship rumors in a crowded arena. Except maybe free food.
Things reportedly continued after the event when the group headed to a nearby concert. And according to eyewitnesses, Prescott and Rance allegedly left together afterward, which basically poured gasoline on the rumor fire.
And now, Caitlin Rance jumped in to defend herself.
“I think that this is the opportunity to make sure that everyone knows that I am single,” the former couple’s friend Caitlin Rance said in an Instagram Story, while sipping from a beverage.
“I have a very active Raya profile,” she continued. “And we’re just here to have a good time.” Rance then clinked her glass with a nearby pal as both smiled.
Prescott, 32, and Rance, 35, have been friends since they attended Mississippi State University together.
Rance, a former NCAA Division I volleyball player for MSU, was set to be a bridesmaid for Prescott’s planned wedding to Ramos. There’s no indication Prescott and Rance were romantically involved prior to his split from Ramos.
What makes the story even messier is the connection to Sarah Jane Ramos and her canceled wedding drama. Rance was supposed to be a bridesmaid before everything unraveled, which means social media has already turned this into a full-season reality show complete with conspiracy theories.
Ramos, 32, found out that Prescott was allegedly sending inappropriate messages to ex-girlfriends and other women under incognito social media profiles.
A source told us at the time that though she was under the impression Prescott had been communicating with other women, Ramos stayed with him for the sake of their family, and gave him an ultimatum back in January.
“It is with heavy hearts that we privately inform our attendees that we have made the very difficult decision to cancel our wedding,” they wrote, adding an apology for the inconvenience and noting that they “welcome your prayers.”
At this point, the Cowboys could announce a training camp update and somehow relationship rumors would still dominate the headlines.
