Following the former NFL player’s passing, Aldon Smith‘s family revealed that they are sending his brain to Boston to find out if he had CTE.
In order to look into what might have contributed to Smith’s death at the age of 36, his family recruited a legal team. This involves a number of measures, such as getting his brain tested for damage from trauma and concussions.
After delivering pizzas to the homeless earlier in the day, Smith was discovered unconscious in his vehicle on Saturday. The reason of death has not been disclosed.
According to Pastor Scott Wagers, who spoke with Smith on Saturday, the NFL player appeared a little worn out but was generally kind and amiable.
Smith became a formidable defensive force after being selected in the first round of the 2011 NFL Draft. Unfortunately, his performance was overshadowed by his off-field problems, and during his career, he received multiple suspensions.
According to Smith’s family, he sustained multiple concussions throughout his NFL career. These injuries have been connected to degenerative brain disease, which can lead to depression, mood swings, and other symptoms.
