28 bags of fentanyl were discovered concealed inside the body of a Florida lady who had been arrested after contacting 911 to report a traffic violation.
According to the Polk County Sheriff’s Office, the incident started when deputies blocked a road to help utility workers working on electricity lines.
Gina Redding, 48, of Lake Wales, avoided the roadblock by avoiding a deputy who was positioned to reroute traffic, according to Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd. A second deputy stopped her at the opposite end of the blocked road and gave her a ticket.
Redding apparently contacted emergency services after starting to follow the deputy’s police car because he was upset over the ticket.
In a Facebook video, Sheriff Judd described:
“She decides, ‘I’ll just dial 911 because I don’t like this traffic ticket,'” “She says she doesn’t deal fentanyl, but it would certainly explain her conduct,” “We didn’t visit ‘Virginia’ any further, we just put her in jail.”
Redding was arrested and given a citation for improperly tinted windows after more deputies intervened due to the illegal misuse of the emergency system.
Deputies said they found marijuana during a routine inventory search before to towing her car.
The most serious finding, though, came during the local jail’s booking procedure when a sophisticated body scan turned up a foreign object.
