DJ Akademiks and Daphne Joy have apparently gone from exchanging playful shots on social media to actually meeting up for a date. And because this is the internet, nothing stays private for long.
The funniest part? Akademiks showed up with a Honey Pack. Yes, that Honey Pack!
Nothing screams “I’m prepared” quite like carrying around the internet’s most famous mystery energy booster. Whether it was confidence, comedy, or just a prop for laughs, social media immediately had a field day. Memes started flying faster than NBA trade rumors.

The saga of Akademiks’ ‘romance’ with Daphne Joy began after he commented on the leaked sex tape that she appeared in with Diddy and adult entertainer Sly Diggler. Akademiks went on to interview Joy and revealed that he was attracted to her, after which she responded that she was “attracted” to his attraction to her.
In a No Jumper interview, Joy addressed her conversation with Akademiks, telling host Adam22: “I told him, underneath all the vulgar words and the profanity, I definitely could see a man that was honestly attracted to me.”
Days later, Joy told Cam Newton on his Funky Friday podcast that she’d be happy to go on a date with Akademiks. “It’s a, ‘I’m ready at 8:00 p.m. right now,'” she said. Joy continued on, adding that it’s “effort and energy” that appeal to her instead of just appearance.
“It’s not about the looks. It’s about how someone makes you feel,” Joy explained. “And I think, in a really crazy time, he interviewed me at one of my most, probably, emotionally vulnerable times, and he made me laugh.”
To be fair, nobody knows exactly what happened during the date. Maybe they laughed the whole night, maybe they spent hours talking, maybe the Honey Pack never even left his pocket.
But one thing is certain: Akademiks knows how to keep people talking.
Love or hate him, the man understands content better than most creators online. Even a casual dinner somehow turned into trending entertainment.
