Former NBA star Dwight Howard is back in the headlines, and this time it has nothing to do with basketball.
Instead, it’s all about marriage, accusations, and enough drama to keep reality TV producers awake at night taking notes.
According to Howard, his estranged wife Amy Luciani is a “master of lies and manipulation” who tricked him into marriage by making false claims about her fertility.
Apparently regular relationship problems are no longer dramatic enough. Howard’s allegations have quickly become the latest celebrity relationship saga for social media detectives to dissect. As expected, the internet immediately grabbed popcorn and settled in for another episode of “Famous People Having Problems.”
The former NBA champion claims he entered the marriage believing one thing, only to later discover a completely different reality.
He said Amber started a “crusade of lies and defamation” against him … costing him job opportunities. He said she is also spreading lies about him to his family, friends, and the mothers of his children.
Dwight said Amber also made false statements about him to law enforcement. Dwight says his ex had a “history of lying and manipulating” him … claiming she knew she was unable to have children but “denied that fact and actively lied about” it, resulting in their marriage. We’re told Amber is denying Dwight’s claims.
Dwight also adamantly denied her claims that he used cocaine, claiming he had never used cocaine in his life. He said this claim cost him work.
At this point, nobody knows exactly how the situation will play out. Lawyers may get involved, more statements may be released and new details may emerge.
That’s usually how celebrity breakups work.
For now, though, Dwight Howard’s explosive accusations have guaranteed one thing: the drama surrounding this marriage is getting more attention than some NBA playoff games.
