A California plastic surgeon was discovered dead in a backyard swimming pool after giving up her medical license following a botched cosmetic treatment that resulted in a patient’s death.
After being found Tuesday night at a residence on Pineglen Drive in Bakersfield, Sarwa Aldoori, 71, was recognized by the Kern County Coroner, according to KGET. The cause, manner, and circumstances surrounding Aldoori’s death are still being investigated, according to the Bakersfield Police Department.
Aldoori was one of two doctors at Bella Health and Beauty, a plastic surgery practice in northeast Bakersfield, for almost 35 years while working as an OB-GYN. The surgeon was an expert in both cosmetic surgery and women’s health and fitness.
She passed away in March 2024 after giving up her California medical license due to disciplinary action related to a patient’s death.
According to California Medical Board documents, Aldoori was first put on a seven-year probationary period before authorities accused her of violating its conditions, which finally resulted in her license being revoked.
Allegations made in 2021 regarding a stomach tuck and liposuction treatment on a patient who passed away in April 2016 were the basis of the disciplinary complaint.
According to state documents, Aldoori lacked the necessary training to carry out the procedure. A fat embolism, which occurs when fat globules enter the bloodstream, is said to be the cause of the patient’s death.
