Luka Doncic’s latest legal drama is apparently heading toward the bench, but this time, there is no basketball involved.
Doncic’s ex-fiancée, Anamaria Goltes, has tried dropping her court case seeking child support for their two children, bit then, it got rejected due to paperwork issues. The decision brings an unexpected twist to a story that had already attracted plenty of attention.
And apparently, the kids are the priority.
In court docs Anamaria Goltes submitted Monday that were obtained by TMZ, she requested a Los Angeles judge dismiss her request without prejudice, reasoning … “I am withdrawing my Petition for Child Support with the specific intention of resolving this matter amicably and by a mutual agreement which is in the best interests of our children.”
Anamarie’s request to dismiss was rejected by the court, due to the paperwork missing Luka’s signature.
The child support case had put the former couple in a legal battle over financial support for their children. But Goltes has decided to walk away from the case. Why?
The reported answer is simple. She wants to do what she believes is best for their children.
The NBA star moved to dismiss the case — arguing that her petition for child support and attorneys’ fees had no legal grounds because it was filed in California … when the kids live in Slovenia.
Luka and his attorney Laura Wasser even alleged he tried convincing Anamaria to move to the Golden State with their kids, but she refused and has resided in Slovenia with them since last May.
For Goltes, stepping away from the case appears to be a decision centered on her children. That could be the biggest win if it all goes through.
There are no trophies, no championship rings, and no highlight reels.
Just two parents trying to handle a complicated situation while keeping their children first.
And sometimes, that is more important than winning an argument.
