Montgomery County has charged a Philadelphia man in relation to two prior burglaries and the attempted break-in at the residence of Eagles running back Saquon Barkley.
According to a news release, the Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office has charged 24-year-old Jabir Parker with several felonies, including theft by unlawful taking, receiving stolen property, criminal use of a communications facility, burglary, conspiracy to burglary, and criminal trespass (breaking into a structure).
Barkley’s home was one of the homes that Parker reportedly tried to break into, according to several Philadelphia outlets, although the Montgomery County DA did not name Barkley as one of the victims.
With the help of FBI SWAT, the Pennsylvania State Police, the Philadelphia Police Department, and the Pennsylvania Attorney General’s Office, Parker was taken into custody by the Lower Merion Police Department on Tuesday.
Parker went before a judge, who sent him to the Montgomery County Correctional Facility and set a $1 million bond. The Lower Merion Police should receive any tips, according to the authorities, who are searching for further suspects.
