Emma Coronel is not happy with TikTok, not even a little bit.
The wife of infamous Mexican drug lord Joaquin “El Chapo” Guzmán says the social media giant suspended her main account. And, according to Emma, she has absolutely no idea why.
Apparently, even people with very complicated résumés still have to deal with social media bans.
Coronel, 37, reportedly took to another account to complain about the suspension. She said her main TikTok account was blocked and claimed she was not given a clear explanation.
Now she wants answers, and honestly, Emma is treating this like a full-blown customer service emergency.
“Hey, how’s it going? I’m a bit annoyed today because TikTok blocked my account for no reason,” Coronel said in a video on a new TikTok account Monday.
“They haven’t given me an explanation as to why, what happened, or what I supposedly did,” she said.
Coronel, who was born in San Francisco, Calif., and grew up in Mexico, explained that she was aware of TikTok’s strict guidelines and claimed she didn’t overstep any boundaries.
“I’m very careful not to break the rules – I make sure to do everything right – and yet, they still blocked me,” she said. “But we’ll keep moving forward.”
Coronel had amassed over 1.4 million followers on TikTok since she joined in August 2024.
Emma was clearly not going to sit quietly and accept it.
She questioned why her account was suspended and made it clear that she wants TikTok to explain itself, because if you are going to kick someone off the platform, at least tell them what they supposedly did wrong.
Coronel, who served three years in prison for drug trafficking and money laundering, made her Kick debut in a livestream with Mexican-American influencers Luis Ordoñez and Guillermo Peña on Aug. 24.
“I went in to speak with my psychiatrist and psychologist, and they told me I needed to start doing things to break out of my routine – to see what motivated me – because I was slipping into depression,” Coronel said.
About 24,000 people now follow Coronel on Kick.
Was it a policy violation? A mistaken suspension? Something buried in TikTok’s mysterious moderation machine? Nobody knows yet, but Emma wants to know.
And judging by her reaction, she is not planning to let the matter disappear quietly.
