Are we starting to see a dent in the Steel Curtain when it comes to their togetherness and team approach. Coming off a disappointing 2012 season, shots are being fired by teammates.
Steelers linebacker LaMarr Woodley had an injury plagued 2012 season, and his play showed. His down season affected the Steelers as a team also.
The Steelers would like Woodley to focus and return to mini camps in shape, and one anonymous teammate took it further, telling Ron Cook of the Pittsburgh Post Gazette that Woodley “was awful last season.”
“He was awful,” one teammate said of Woodley’s performance last season.
“He tells us he works out, but we didn’t see it. He wasn’t in shape. That has to be a reason why he was always hurt.”
Steelers general manager Kevin Colbert defended Woodley, but what else can he do after signing him to a 6 year $61.5 million deal in 2011.
