Andy Reid is doing his best to give his quarterback, Alex Smith, the best chance to be successful in his first season as a Chief.
The Chiefs and 49ers agreed to a swap of disappointing wide receivers earlier in the week, and Ed Werder is reporting that Reid actually consulted with Smith before agreeing to bring A.J. Jenkins who had been a bust up to this point in his career.
Andy Reid definitely asked QB Alex Smith is opinion on WR AJ Jenkins before making trade with 49ers for Jonathan Baldwin.

Smith and the Chiefs may be Jenkins’ final chance at living up to those lofty expectations he faced as a first round pick out of Illinois.
