Do you know how much weed Noah can buy with 60 million dollars?
Ricky Williams, Red & Meth and Michael Phelps are so jealous right now.
If you were a Bulls fan and was holding out hope that Noah was going to be included in a trade with the Nuggets for Carmelo, sorry your dream is over. Fanhouse has the details:
The Chicago Bulls have reached agreement with center Joakim Noah on a five-year, $60 million contract extension, according to Sam Smith, who writes for the team’s official website. The extension will kick in for the 2011-12 season and run through 2016.
Noah, 25, has become a dependable defender and rebounder for the Bulls since the team made him the No. 9 pick in the 2007 NBA Draft. Noah had run-ins with coaches Scott Skiles and Jim Boylen as a rookie, but excelled under Vinny Del Negro. Last season, Noah averaged 10 points and 11 rebounds while starting 54 of 64 games.
Noah’s extension kills once and for all the idea Chicago could include the center in a trade for disgruntled Nuggets forward Carmelo Anthony.
Personally I think the Bulls overpaid, but they value Noah in more than just numbers. The Bulls who have already paid Carlos Boozer a ton of money (he is out for 6-8 weeks with mysterious hand injury) and with Derrick Rose coming up for an extension you wonder if this was a wise move.
You would think they would be more cautious based off the mistake they made with Loul Deng.
But what is done is done, so lets all blaze one up for Noah.
