Childish ‘Donald Glover’ Gambino brought a jolt of energy to the Summer Jam crowd on a sweltering summer day. His high-energy performance, coupled with his talented tracks proved to be the perfect couple in getting the crowd hype for the long day of performances ahead.
Gambino kicked off his set with his blazing hit Crawl, which played as a prelude for what was to come.
Overall, the highlight of Gambino’s set was when he brought out Jhene Aiko. Aiko, fresh off of the success of her debut album Sail Out and its lead single ‘The Worst’ ignited the crowd.
The duo performed and emotionally charged rendition of ‘Bed Peace’ which many have been quick to dub as the defining moment of this year’s Summer Jam.
Overall, the gauntlet has been officially tossed and the momentum put in place. Performance quality will be the true standout of this year’s Summer Jam.
