Dan Marino made headlines yesterday when news broke that he was suing the NFL, claiming that the league mislead players by obscuring information about football related injuries.
Now, the Hall of Fame quarterback is backpedaling with 4.2 speed by withdrawing his suit against the league – stating that it was never his intentions to sue.
“It was never Marino’s intention to initiate litigation in this case, but to ensure that in the event he had adverse health consequences down the road, he would be covered with health benefits. They are working to correct the error.”
Oops…
Marino was one of the biggest names to initiate litigation against the NFL and his swift withdrawal raises many questions. There a rumblings that he’s in talks with the Dolphins about accepting a position and this lawsuit would halt progress.
I’m told Dan Marino did not expect “backlash” he heard over suit. Questions abt timing post CBS, possibility of clouding future with Fins.
