The deal will probably get done, but a lot can happen between now and August 23rd when it can officially be done. That was the gist of what Brian Windhorst was saying in this ESPN radio interview.
“The deal is done, but not done,” Windhorst said. “The teams have agreed, but they can’t say they have agreed and they can’t agree because we are in this weird moratorium period. Because you can’t trade Andrew Wiggins until the 23rd of this month.”
Another interesting nugget that Windhorst pointed out was that a third team would be involved (The Sixers) and Anthony Bennett would ended up in Philly, while Thaddeus Young would go to the T-Wolves. Love has said he wouldn’t opt-into the final year of his contract, but Cavs believe that once he starts playing with LeBron he will sign a long-term deal with them after he opts-out this summer.
