The lack of witnesses or video will end a police investigation before it starts. Because of a lack of witnesses, video or anything close to an eye-witness account — Dallas Police are suspending an investigation into Aqib Talib and his brother over a nightclub assault.
The alleged incident took place around 2:09 a.m. April 8 at LUXX Nightclub on 723 N. Pearl Street in downtown Dallas. Long story short: Someone called 911 and reported an “active shooter.” When police arrived a 24-year-old club employee said three men had gotten into a fight, which he tried to break up. He told police they tried to punch him, he tried to kick them, which eventually led to everyone getting tossed, at which point “someone produced a gun and pointed it at” the employee.
“Witnesses outside the location observed a Black male outside fire a round into the air, which caused an immediate panic,” police said in a press release. “All of the involved individuals left the location.” WFAA reported that Dallas police then tracked them to the strip joint XTC Cabaret on N. Stemmons Freeway and towed their cars — a Jaguar and a Range Rover — looking for evidence.
Dallas police have never named the three suspects allegedly involved in the LUXX incident. Police sources and club management have identified Aqib, and Yaqub as the violent assailants.
