JJ Watt is one of the biggest and nastiest players on the field. He’s relentless when chasing quarterbacks, dominated defensive lineman and gives his team an edge that others don’t have. Off the field, Watt is a big soft teddy bear and his mom treats him as nothing less. During Sunday’s game, Watt racked up his 58th career sack after losing his helmet. His mom was completely worried and frightening to see her baby boy play without his protective headgear. She was so worried that she called him immediately after the game to check on him.
Watt doesn’t think losing his helmet was a big deal, just another day on the ball field in his eyes.
“People made such a big deal out of it. Literally you don’t even think twice about it. I wouldn’t have even thought it was a big deal until people made a big deal out of it. You’re just playing the game. It’s like if a glove falls off or if a shoe falls off. You’re not going to stop in the middle of the play, you’re going to make the play. I don’t think I did anything different than anyone else would have done.”
JJ Watt has a point, it’s football, you have to play until you hear a whistle. It’s nice to know his mom still sees him as her precious little son despite being 6’5″ and nearly 300 pounds.
