Sean May was a part of the championship team at UNC-CH in 2005 and it looks like his career with the school doesn’t just stop there.
UNC and May announced today that he will now be joining the coaching staff. May will serve as the assistant to the director of player development for the 2015-2016 season.
“Sean is one of the smartest players I have ever coached,” Roy Williams said in a statement. “He’s made the decision that his professional basketball playing career is over after 10 years, and he would like to see if coaching is the next step for him to pursue. The position he is in will allow him to help our staff and show him what our coaches do on a daily basis. We are pleased to have him back in Chapel Hill.”
May is an awarded player at UNC with a jersey hanging in the rafters, no surprise they want him there.
