The Warriors were not happy with the way the Bucks celebrated on the court when they ended their historic streak and they took notice. The two teams play each other again on Friday and the Warriors are using the media to let the Bucks know it will be a long night for them as Steph Curry remind them they didn’t forget.
“Oh, it was a nice celebration. We do remember that stuff. We were kind of laughing at some of the stuff going on. It was a big game for them. Friday will be a big game for us.”
The Warriors has been very good at fighting the championship hungover and this is another example of them finding extra motivation for a game. The Bucks had all the reason to celebrate, I don’t think there was anything wrong with that but Draymond Green doesn’t see it like that and has a Bucks player in particular who caught his attention.
“Michael Carter-Williams getting a dunk at the end of the game and looking at our bench like, ‘Dude you lost your spot,'” Green said of Carter-Williams losing his job as a starter. “So, it’s not quite common that you should be looking toward someone’s bench yelling. You’ve got some ground to make up.”
Unfortunately for the Bucks, this game might have came a little bit too early, that loss is still fresh in the Warriors’ memories, they are nearly perfect at home, the Bucks themselves are dealing with some distraction from their strip club night in LA and more importantly the key player to their win against the Warriors, Greg Monroe, has been out and his status for the game is uncertain. You add to all these circumstances the fact that Klay Thompson, who was nursing an ankle injury, is coming from a season high against the Suns and is looking forward to the Friday matchup.
There’s nothing wrong with the dunk, but the stare-down, trying to talk nasty in the game like that,” Thompson said. “And it’s like, ‘All right, you’re going to see us next Friday and in our building, tooWe’re looking forward to it, man,” Thompson said. “Obviously a team that gave us our one in the loss column, and we felt they could have won with a little more class.”
I will just go and guess that the Bucks won’t hit the strip club in the Bay Area and will get plenty of rest for Friday night.
