The 2016 Masters will kick-off on Monday, April 4th when the players start participating in practice rounds. The 2016 Masters Tournament itself will start on Thursday, April 7th in Augusta, Georgia. The field will be filled with many top players, such as Rory McIlroy and Jason Day, who are seeking their first Green Jacket. Other top players (e.g., Phil Mickelson, Bubba Watson, Jordan Spieth) will be looking to add to their Green Jacket collection. While many great players will take the course this year, no one is close to the records established by some of the game’s greatest players. The great Jack Nicklaus holds the all-time record with six wins at Augusta National while Arnold Palmer and Tiger Woods have each won four times. Mickelson can join this illustrious duo with a big performance this year.
All players will be looking to play better than the reigning Masters champion Jordan Spieth, who is already off to fast start in 2016. Spieth has taken home the Tournament of Champions in February while finishing in the Top 10 in three other events. With another win at Augusta, Spieth will become the first back-to-back champion in over a decade. Spieth will face major competition from some of golf’s top players including McIlroy, Day, Watson, Mickelson, and Dustin Johnson. Fans traveling to The Masters can find great deal and locations for Augusta National parking.
