43 year-old Lisa Carr was discharged from a Cincinnati Hospital last week and was ready to go home, except she missed the last bus on her route. Instead of calling for a ride from family, friends, she went into GTA mode and stole an ambulance from the hospital parking lot.
Here are more details from WLWT.com:
The ambulance was found at Carr’s home around 11 p.m. Thursday near the intersection of Meredith Drive and Daly Road, officials said.
Browder said the ambulance was tracked with GPS.
Springfield Township Police Chief Rob Browder said Carr “just wanted to go home,” and a police report notes that Carr told officers that she had missed the last bus home.
Carr was taken into custody. She was charged with auto theft by the Cincinnati Police Department, and driving under suspended license by the Springfield Township Police Department.
Carr was scheduled to appear in court Friday morning, but deputies said the hearing was being delayed.
The report doesn’t specify any details on if she was released from the hospital’s psychiatric ward, but I am going to guess that is a strong possibility.
