It is a very tricky and sensitive issue.
The reasons why they keep rape accusers names hidden is for their protection, but the actual accused name is always out in the public.
Which goes against the innocent until proven guilty mindset we are supposed to have. Also what happens if the accused is cleared?
Their name has already been dragged through the mud and the accuser who lied gets off 99% of the time scot-free.
My thoughts on this has always been if there is enough evidence to prove the accuser lied her name should be released and she should also be arrested.
Many times you can’t really determine who is lying and in those situations there is really nothing you can do. The man’s name will always be associated with it and the woman’s name will likely always be hidden.
Derrick Rose’s case is slightly different because there are no criminal proceedings, this is just a lawsuit. Normally when lawsuits are involved, both names are public record, but in this case the accuser’s name hasn’t been revealed.
Rose wants that to change and here are his reasons why.
