Jrue Holiday will be a late addition to the Pelicans roster this season, and he lends his love and support to his wife as she battles brain surgery.
According to Nola.com — Lauren Holiday — a two-time Olympic gold medalist for the U.S. women’s national soccer team — had a tumor discovered on the right side of her brain by doctors.
Holiday, 28, retired last year to start a family with the Pelicans guard.
“Devastating,” Jrue Holiday said of the diagnosis.
Nola is reporting that the tumor was operable and not a threat to the Holidays’ unborn daughter, and that Lauren would return to full health afterwards.
