Back in March at Newark Airport in New Jersey the ‘Dipset’ rapper was caught trying to board a plane with a loaded .38 caliber handgun. On April 30 Santana, whose real name is Laron James was indicted by a Grand Jury on two counts; one count of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and carrying a weapon onto an Aircraft.
A TSA agent discovered the weapon in James carry on and when confronted about it, he fled to a taxi and was arrested days later. He plead guilty Thursday in New York to both counts.
Potentially there is a plea deal in the works. Reported by Bossip in May that his lawyer Brian Neary was in talks with the D.A. to reach a plea deal.
He has been on house arrest since May and was given permission to participate in Dipset Forever Tour as long as he rode by automobile with his mother and was given approval to go to his daughter’s birthday party last month. According to XXL, James trial was suppose to start early in September. An ordered filed this month postponed the start date until at least September 30.
