A racist currently on trial for murder said he committed the crimes because he wanted to make one of history’s known racists proud.
New York Daily News reports that James Harris Jackson, the racist white man currently on trial for targeting a black man, Timothy Caughman, then killing him with a sword told detectives he was a Nazi at heart who blamed blacks and Jews for society’s ills, prosecutors revealed Tuesday.
Speaking to authorities after his March 2017 arrest, Jackson detailed to detectives a belief system that included blaming Jews for “cultural problems,” his plans to stop interracial couples and insisted black people “are intellectually incapable.”
Jackson went on to say that Caughman’s murder was practice for a bigger plan, a killing spree, targeted at black men seen with white women. Jackson’s recorded admission was played for the Jury during a pre-trial hearing.
Jackson faces life in prison without parole if convicted. He is also charged with murder as a hate crime.
